There were three years of “main” sets or regular base sets produced by the Star Company. Each series was broken into bagged sets by team. Limited numbers were produced and print quality was generally inconsistent.
The 1984-85 set consisted of 288 cards and included the famous True Rookie Cards of Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, and John Stockton, in addition to many key second year cards. The set also included the #195 Jordan Olympic and #288 Jordan Special cards which were the top and bottom card of the Highlights/Specials bag. In total, the 1984-85 set included three Michael Jordan cards. The estimated production run of the 1984-85 set is 3,000-6,000, likely closer to 5,000 with production appearing to be on the higher end for the New York Knicks, Phoenix Suns and Indiana Pacers.
